Full Object Scan
Create highly accurate and detailed 3D models of real-world objects using multiple images.
Select an Object
Select an object that is rigid, has good texture, and is not shiny or reflective.
Lighting and Composition
- Use diffused lighting to avoid hard shadows.
- Position the object to fill the camera frame without cutting off parts.
- Use a plain, non-shiny, solid-color background that contrasts with the object.
Taking Photos
- You can use a smartphone or professional camera (DSLR or mirrorless).
- Move the camera around the object or use a turntable to rotate the object.
- Take multiple overlapping photos of the object from various angles (including above and below).
- Try to keep the whole object in focus.
- Use a tripod if available (optional).
- Capture images with at least 70% overlap for accuracy.
- Take at least 30 photos. More is better.
Review & Upload
- Review and delete any blurry, obscured, or partial coverage photos.
- Upload the photos to the Byrst platform.
Processing
- All processing occurs in the Byrst cloud.
- This can take just a few minutes or longer, depending on the complexity and resolution of the model.
Model Completion & Editing
- You will be notified when your model is complete.
- You can then apply edits to the model, including orientation and size (to ensure it reflects real-world scale in AR).
